Building Energy Rating is a system that allows us to assess your Energy Use and subsequent Carbon Emissions in your home. It needs to be carried out by specially trained BER assessors registered by Sustainable Energy Ireland (SEI). It is a tool that allows you to view improvements that can be made to your home which will reduce your energy costs. BER measures the Energy Performance of a building ranging from A1 to G. A being the most energy efficient and G the least efficient.
From January 1-2009 all homes sold or rented require a B.E.R Certificate, if you are buying or renting a home you are entitled to ask the seller/landlord for a B.E.R certificate. So please insist on it as it will give you a full report of the energy efficiency of the building.
The BER is based on the characteristics of major components of your dwelling.

Our software allows us to make a calculation of your energy use based on the above components. Once this is established we then issue a report of potential improvements and savings with the certificate.
